Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi K50G, also known as Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, for the Chinese market. If you have been following Xiaomi launches for a long time, you will know that the Redmi K series is exclusive to China, but it reaches the rest of the world under the POCO brand. For example, last year’s Redmi K40G landed on our borders under the name POCO F3 GT. So most likely the new Redmi K50G is launched in Spain renamed POCO F4 GT.

Clarified that point, this Redmi K50G has been presented with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 under the hood and blazing fast 120W charging as main innovations. But the most interesting thing is that it is the first Xiaomi phone that collaborates with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 team to have a special limited edition that sports the team’s logo and colors.

All the specifications of the Redmi K50G (Gaming Edition)

One of the great novelties of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is that it is the world’s first device equipped with CyberEngine’s 1016 X-axis motor. The vibration frequency of this motor ranges from 50Hz to 500Hz to offer a richer vibration effect, both in games and in daily use. And it is that MIUI can customize 95 different scenarios to take advantage of the performance of this engine. Take a look at the rest of the specifications in the following table.

A high-end mobile designed for gamers

Like its predecessor, the Redmi K50G has a pair of triggers to play more comfortably to titles like Fortnite and PUBG Mobile. Plus, it comes with the CyberEngine X-axis haptic motor we mentioned earlier, as well as dual speakers tuned by JBL. The mobile is made with a metal frame that offers a good grip, while the back is made of glass.

But what gamers of the Redmi K50G will like the most is its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor (the fastest and most powerful today) that allows you to play all Android games in the highest graphic quality. And it is that it mounts up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage in the fastest formats available (LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1, respectively).

Likewise, it is worth mentioning the incorporation of a new dual vapor chamber (VC) refrigeration system in this mobile that limits its excessive temperature increase during demanding tasks. This system uses a copper radiator along with dual sheets of graphite, stainless steel, and mesh materials.

It does not improve the camera, but the fast charge does

The screen it mounts is 6.67-inch AMOLED with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 480Hz touch sampling rate (best for competitive gaming). In addition, it emits 10-bit colors and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

As for the camera, it repeats that of the Redmi K40G. That is, use a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra wide angle and a 2 MP macro. Pretty regular, really. It is noted that Xiaomi has sacrificed in this section so as not to raise the price much. The front camera, on the other hand, has improved: before it was 16 MP and now it is 20 MP.

Another thing that has improved is fast charging. The Redmi K50G makes the leap to 120 W charging (its predecessor only supported up to 67W), allowing you to fill your battery from 0 to 100% in just 17 minutes. For the rest, this new Xiaomi includes everything we expected from it: MIUI 13 based on Android 12, 5G, WiFi 6E, side fingerprint reader, etc.
