50% larger screen than previous generation
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 arrives with the best screen we have seen so far in the series, both for its size and its quality. Regarding the size, measures 1.56″ and offers 50% more space to view the functions and data of the bracelet. This is possible in part thanks to the new “all-screen” design that makes the screen reach the edges of the body, despite maintaining the distinctive oval shape of these Xiaomi bracelets.
This screen is AMOLED and has a resolution of 152 x 486 pixels, a maximum brightness of 450 nits and a density of 326 pixels per inch. That means it is sharper than that of the Mi Band 5. On the other hand, it should be noted that the Mi Band 6 brings 60 watchfaces to choose from in different styles and has 6 straps of different colors: black, orange, yellow, ivory, blue and olive green.
Detect 6 types of exercises and offer 30 sports modes
Xiaomi has taken the sporty side of its flagship bracelet very seriously. And it is that the new Mi Band 6 has twice as many sports modes as the last generation. To be more specific, this new smartband can track 30 different types of physical activities, including some very interesting ones such as dance (Zumba, hip-hop, among others), basketball and boxing. It can even now automatically detect and start monitoring 6 types of exercises: outdoor running, walking, treadmill, rowing, cycling and elliptical training.
But the Mi Band 6 can not only help you during the day. Overnight, can monitor your sleep and even your breathing while you sleep so you can know how well you rest in terms of duration and quality. By the way, this bracelet also has a function that reminds you that you have been very inactive and need to exercise.
Measures blood oxygen, heart rate and stress
The great novelty that the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 debuts (although we already saw it in the Amazfit Band 5) is the SpO2 sensor. This new sensor allows you to know your blood oxygen saturation both at rest and during training. It also has a built-in PPG sensor that can measure your heart rate 24 hours a day to detect any abnormalities in time. As if that were not enough, through algorithms, the Mi Band 6 can measure your stress levels. Therefore, without a doubt it is one of the most complete smartbands in terms of health functions.
14 days of autonomy and has a water resistance of 5 ATM
Regarding autonomy, Xiaomi says that the 125 mAh battery of the Mi Band 6 can keep the bracelet on for more than 14 days Resting. With normal use, your battery does not exceed that duration. How is it loaded? Through a magnetic connector just like the Mi Band 5.
On the other hand, it must be said that this smartband has a certified water resistance of 5 ATM, so in theory it can be submerged up to 50 meters underwater (without movement) and come out unscathed. Actually, this means that it is splash resistant, you can use it for swimming or showering, but not for deep sea diving, for example.
In terms of connectivity, it only has Bluetooth 5.0 to sync with your Android device (5.0 or later) or your iOS device (10 or later). The applications where you can use the statistics collected by this bracelet and take advantage of all its functions are: Mi Wear, Mi Fit and Strava.
